San Diego Tango Milongas or Argentine Tango Dance Parties
While you can dance just about every night in the San Diego Area, there are a couple of Milongas that we frequent more than others in part because of distance and in part because of the dance floor, and in part because of the other dancers who frequent the Milongas.

Milongas where you can find us and why we go there:

Tuesday 9-11 pm UCSD Tango Practica
UCSD, location and time varies so check their website first! Free!
We love this practica in part because we teach at UCSD (see our class schedule) but mostly because it attracts lots of young Tangueros. The floor is always excellent and you get the opportunity to share what you know with others.
Sundays, Once a Month only! 8:00-12:00pm Milonga - Tango Addicts' Milonga
New Date and Location! 4569 30th Street in North Park $5
America and Chris's milonga has been steadily picking up steam and is now one of the most attended milongas in San Diego. They just moved the date and time so lets hope that it continues to be a popular place to dance. (It has!) America's music mix is also expanding and with a nice location and floor it is not surprising that Milongueros are getting their mid week Tango fix at this Milonga. A nice assortment of snacks and refreshments to keep you going till the very end.
FRIDAY 9:30 pm-1:00 am Milonga - Milonga Sin Nombre
New Location: Patty Welle's Dancetime Studio, $10
By far, the greatest bunch of people (yes, many of the organizers started with our Tango classes at UCSD!) Beside, the great music, the also have the a nice spread of snacks, drinks, and goodies. The music is done by Maziar and Chris, who do a great job and play some none traditional tangos as well to mix things up. This Milonga is hosted by a bevy of UCSD Tango Club members. The music varies depending on who is dj'ing. A crowd that is younger than at most other local Milongas.
